tariff quotas for import of certain types of meat and whey into EAEU
The Eurasian Economic Commission’s Board has decided to establish and allocate tariff quotas for certain types of meat products and whey for 2025. "In accordance with the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, the EEC determines tariff quotas for certain categories of agricultural goods originating from third countries and imported into the EAEU customs territory, taking into account the balances of their consumption and production in the Member States as well as the countries’ obligations to the World Trade Organization," reminded Vahagn Ghazaryan, Director of the EEC Department for Customs Tariff and Non-tariff Regulation.
For the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, tariff quotas for 2025 are set in the amounts recorded in the protocols on the States’ accession to the WTO. For the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus and the Kyrgyz Republic, tariff quotas are determined within the volumes not exceeding the difference between consumption and production with due regard to the parties' requests.
For instance, quotas for cattle meat will amount to 9.5 ths tons for the Republic of Armenia, 21 ths tons for the Republic of Kazakhstan, 5 ths tons for the Kyrgyz Republic and 570 ths tons for the Russian Federation. Quotas for pork will be distributed in the following volumes: 9.4 ths tons for the Republic of Armenia, 20 ths tons for the Republic of Belarus and 2 ths tons for the Kyrgyz Republic.
Quotas for meat and poultry offal will amount to 35.1 ths tons for the Republic of Armenia, 10.9 ths tons for the Republic of Belarus, 140 ths tons for the Republic of Kazakhstan, 58 ths tons for the Kyrgyz Republic and 364 ths tons for the Russian Federation.
The import quota for whey has been set in the amount of 0.7 ths tons for the Republic of Armenia and in the amount of 15 ths tons for the Russian Federation.
